Titus FINALLY got his Taekwondo uniform. We'll take better pictures later, but here he is at the beginning of class! He's doing great, working towards his first new belt. Knife hand lunge punch!
Running – Day 1
Well, it all began in August when I got this card at CIY Move:
So, I have to run a marathon (26.2 miles), but August 2nd. I've got a pretty late start, but I'm still going to do my best to accomplish this goal. I'm not going for first place, just trying to complete it without dying.

I made the Board!
Woohoo! Here's a copy of the announcement email to Oregon AFSP Supporters. Im excited for our first meeting, especially having just completed a two day suicide intervention training program. The board looks to be well balanced, and three Eugene'ers!
Hello OR Supporters~
Here we are finally!!! I am excited about the new Oregon Chapter of AFSP. It took some time to go over everyone's applications and find a place that best suited everyone. Everyone that has been selected for the Board will serve out their terms as defined by AFSP's by-laws. Meaning General Board members will serve 3-year terms then be up for re-election, all Executive Board members will serve one-year terms then be up for re-election. Our election system runs on the AFSP fiscal year July 1 through June 30. Since we started the Board in January 2010, all Board members are considered filling an open position: all Executive positions are up for re-election June 2010, to start their term July 1, 2010. All General Board members are filling a ½ year term in a 3-year term cycle and will be up for re-election in June 2012.
The Board will start considering currently applied but not selected applicants and new applicants for two additional Board positions to start in July 2010. This will create a natural roll-over of Board members every few years allowing for continuity each year.
The Board will be creating various committees. Anyone not selected for the Board is certainly welcome to submit their name to join a committee. Each committee will need good quality volunteers, if you felt you didn't want to take on a role with the Board but still want to be involved beyond a walk/event participant, please consider joining a committee.
Here are your Board members, titles and terms.
Officers/Executive Board Members: all are 1-year terms, ending 06/30/10, all eligible for re-election.
Chairperson- Jim White, he has an MS in education and is a retired teacher/administrator in Oregon.
President- Dr. John Casey, he has his PhD from PSU and is currently working in the mental health profession at a local hospital.
Treasurer- Angela McClintic, she works in accounts receivable with a company in Eugene, OR. Angela was part of the volunteer crew and participant in the first OOTD walk in Eugene this past October.
Secretary- Amber McCullers, she coordinated the Eugene OOTD walk this past October, is a volunteer with Courageous Kids and is part of the Lane County Suicide Prevention Coalition Committee.
General Board Members: all are a 3-year term, ending 06/30/2012, all eligible for re-election for another 3-year term.
Dr. Andy Merrill, he is a high-risk obstetrician with a local hospital.
Hannah Evans, she coordinated the Portland OOTD walk this past October.
Deborah Colby, she is a vice president of marketing and business development at a local credit union.
Luke McFadden, he is the youth minister at a local church in Eugene, OR.
Debra Holland, she has her MS in education and works as a student teacher supervisor at a few local colleges.
Tae Kwon Do
Titus had his first trial class tonight with his friend Jack. We got a sweet coupon for a good deal on three months of lessons. Here are some pics from my phone!
Semi-bathroom
We are updating our bathroom a little. Here's a picture of the new slate tile we had put in. We are just waiting on our vanity and top to finish this out.
The tile is awesome, rough and natural.
Garage door opener
Our garage door opener has never worked that great, so we called our home warranty company (got it with the house) and someone came out to repair it. They couldn't, so we get a new one for free! One guy said we needed a new door as well, but another company said the door will be fine for a few more years, and that we could just replace the opener now.
Hooooray for free stuff!
Lily’s Shots
Lily got three shots and an oral vaccination. Lindsay and Titus had to leave the room. They couldn't stand to watch Lily get her shots!
She did good, she only cried for a few minutes.
2009 Winter Canoe Trip
We had our yearly winter canoe trip! It was a great trip. We cut it short one day due to some nasty weather coming in the next day, but we still completely the whole 30 mile stretch. Great weather, much better than last years -5! Here are a few pictures, with more only a click away:
